How to test your controller
Connect the controller
Plug it in with a USB cable or pair it over Bluetooth with this computer or phone.
Press any button
Browsers only reveal a controller after it has been used, so press any button to wake it up.
Watch the inputs
Every button lights up when pressed. Sticks and triggers show their exact position from 0 to 1.
Run the guided test
Press Start Test and follow the prompts. At the end you get a pass or fail result for every button, trigger and stick.
What it checks
Every button
Face buttons, D-pad, bumpers, menu buttons and stick clicks. Each one shows the moment it registers, so a dead or sticky button is obvious.
Stick drift
The tester records how close each stick comes back to centre. If it never settles, that is drift — the most common controller fault.
Range and roundness
Roll a stick around its edge to map its reach in 16 directions and catch a stick that falls short on one side.
Analog triggers
LT/RT and L2/R2 are read as analog values, so you can see whether a trigger rests at zero and reaches full travel.

What is stick drift?
Drift is when your character or camera moves on its own while you are not touching the stick. It comes from worn or dirty sensors inside the stick, and it gets worse over time.
Leave both sticks untouched for a few seconds. A healthy stick rests below 0.08. Between 0.08 and 0.15 is borderline; above 0.15 the stick is drifting and will move games on its own.

Is the gamepad tester free?
Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up, and runs entirely in your browser.
Why isn't my controller showing up?
Press any button on it first — browsers hide controllers until they are used. If it still does not appear, reconnect the cable or re-pair Bluetooth, and try Chrome or Edge.
Can I test a PS5 DualSense controller?
Yes. Connect it with a USB-C cable or over Bluetooth. All buttons, both triggers and both sticks are tested.
Does it work on phones?
Yes, on Android with Chrome, over USB OTG or Bluetooth. Support on iPhone and iPad depends on your Safari version.
Is any data sent anywhere?
No. Controller readings are processed on your device and never uploaded.
Can it fix stick drift?
The tester shows whether drift is there and how bad it is. For PlayStation controllers, the calibration page can recentre the sticks; worn hardware still needs cleaning, repair or replacement.
